Logistics Planner

Your Responsibilities

The Logistics Planner is responsible for the scheduling and planning of grain movements for the company whilst meeting set profit objectives and ensuring contractual terms are met.

  • To receive fixings from mill customers and liaise with the relevant trader to ensure that the company delivers the required commodity in the most cost effective manner.
  • To work with only TASSC approved hauliers within set target rates.
  • To pre-advise growers of loading intentions within a reasonable timeframe.
  • To carry out the necessary administration for claims and rejections.
  • To request and deliver independent re-test requests as required.
  • To carry out the required administration function at month end to include chasing overdue movements, implementing carries on behalf of traders with consumers/farmers and processing contract rolls.
  • Allocation and recording of data on company systems.
  • Provide a metric to measure delivery success rate on a daily basis
  • To liaise effectively with inter company departments.
  • To carry out any additional duties on behalf of the department as requested by the Logistics Manager.
Your Profile
  • Outstanding planning, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent geographic knowledge
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft systems and being able to transfer IT skills to using bespoke company systems.
  • Previous logistics/planning experience would be preferred.
Capabilities
  • Excellent numeracy and communication skills with strong capabilities of effectively managing workload.
  • High IT proficiency.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • To work effectively as a team member and on own initiative.
