Lifecycle Manager, Operational Technology - Decatur, IL

This is a full-time, exempt level position.

Position Summary

The Lifecycle Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of products, systems, or assets-from planning and deployment to maintenance, upgrades, and retirement. This role ensures resources are optimized, compliance standards are met, and business objectives are supported through efficient lifecycle management strategies.

You will work closely with Operational Technology engineers, Process Automation (PA) engineers, and partner with key business segments, Global Technology (GT, which is ADM's IT dept.), and your global OT peers to ensure the successful delivery of OT solutions to ADM operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage lifecycle processes for Operational Technology systems, products, or assets to ensure performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness including PCs, Servers, and Networking equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and asset data, ensuring lifecycle tracking from procurement through decommissioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (procurement, engineering, IT operations, finance, and compliance) to align lifecycle planning with business goals.
  • Monitor vendor contracts, warranties, and renewals to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Create lifecycle forecasts, budgets, and reports for management review.
  • Implement best practices for asset utilization, refresh cycles, and end-of-life transitions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and sustainability goals.
  • Evaluate new technologies or methodologies to improve lifecycle management efficiency.
  • Lead lifecycle-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to track lifecycle performance and ROI.
Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of process automation/control applications and HMI software applications (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Honeywell, Wonderware, Emerson DeltaV, Valmet (NovaTech) D/3, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience managing the lifecycle, maintenance, and upgrades of DCS/MES applications
  • Ability to think 'outside the box'
  • Strong communication skills - communicate at a conceptual level as well as at a hands-on, practical level
  • Highly motivated, self-starter
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional global teams
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by delivering on commitments and managing by example
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment; a willingness to learn new skills and take direction from other team members; and ability to organize information and manage time efficiently
  • Experience in supporting plant operations and 24/7 operating requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in lifecycle, asset, or product management.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, and end-of-life planning.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with lifecycle management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Jira, or CMDBs).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ITIL or PMP certification.
  • Experience managing hardware, software, or product lifecycles in a large enterprise environment.
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and asset recycling programs.
