Laborer - Mendota, IL

This is a full-time, hourly position.

Job Summary:

Load and unload grain trucks. Set up and run facility equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Basic housekeeping: including sweeping and shoveling of grain. Otherwise, to include all general job tasks required at ADM Grain Elevators.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate truck dumps
Load and unload grain trucks
Operate MCC controls for equipment
Perform maintenance on grain conveying equipment
Keep work area clean
Measure bins
Operation of bin temperature monitoring equipment
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Ability to adapt to ever changing job responsibilities
Exhibit regular and prompt attendance
Willing to work overtime, weekends and nights
Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in a team setting when needed
Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude
Ability to work with heights, work in confined spaces
Work in environmental conditions, such as hot and cold temperatures and a dust environment

Qualifications:

To be considered for an opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

High school education or equivalent is preferred
Commitment to ADM's goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures
Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.), lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, shovel material, sweep and dust.
