An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician based in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. The purpose of this role is to ensure that all raw materials and flour products meet required specifications and protocols. To assist QFS Manager/Quality Specialists in the day to day cover within the laboratory and participate in the site's internal auditing schedule.
Your Responsibilities
• Work within the companies Safety and Health and environmental guidelines
• Testing wheat, flour and their associated products against specifications and to ensure product quality
• Understanding customer and flour specifications and relating these to results entered into the system
• Ensure Central Technical Function receive samples required
• Carry out hygiene, food safety & quality audits as required
• Work closely with other departments on site
• Ensure all data is entered onto LIMS efficiently & accurately
• Assist QFS Manager in customer & external audits
• Monitor & report unusual findings using Achiever system
• Create & issue certificates for customers
• Collecting samples for routine and non-routine analysis
• Carry out problem solving and equipment maintenance
Your Profile
• A levels or 5 GCSE including Maths.
• Basic Food safety awareness.
• Knowledge of HACCP preferable.
• Experience in laboratory operations - desirable.
• Auditing skills - desirable.
• Experienced with Microsoft programmes (including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented.
