Laboratory Technician - Lincoln, NE

This is a salaried, non-exempt level position

About the Role:

As a Laboratory Technician on our Quality team, you will help ensure the integrity of our products throughout the manufacturing and release process. You'll use standardized techniques and procedures to conduct and analyze tests on sensitive samples, supporting our commitment to quality and food safety.

Schedule:
  • This role works a swing shift across 2nd and 3rd shift, rotating days of the week, including weekends
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (M-F) / 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM (SS)
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (M-F) / 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM (SS)
  • Training will be conducted on 1st shift
What You'll Do:
  • Model our core values of integrity, respect, excellence, resourcefulness, teamwork, and responsibility in everything you do
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and HACCP requirements
  • Complete all required laboratory training
  • Accurately follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Record, interpret, and enter test results in designated forms and LIMS software with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Perform analytical and sensory tests on in-process and finished products in a timely and precise manner
  • Identify and report inconsistencies in data promptly, escalating concerns when necessary
  • Receive, handle, and store samples according to SOPs
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, taking corrective action and keeping records as needed
  • Safely handle, organize, and store all chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to their Safety Data Sheets
  • Work both independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Verify testing standards, equipment, and instruments to ensure accurate performance
  • Participate in proficiency and collaborative testing
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and other departments (in person, by radio, email, or phone)
  • Take on new responsibilities as needed and assist with training team members
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures
  • Support quality control processes, including maintaining product samples and verifying test results
  • Monitor laboratory supply levels and notify your manager when supplies need to be reordered
Position Experience and Education Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in applied science or related field preferred
  • Previous analytical laboratory experience preferred

  • You can read, write, and communicate clearly in English
  • You're organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • You're a team player who's eager to learn and contribute
  • You demonstrate reliability, professionalism, strong attendance, and maintain appropriate personal hygiene for a laboratory environment
  • You're comfortable using basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, OneNote) and instrument software.
  • You're committed to maintaining a safe work environment and understand that safety is everyone's responsibility
