We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Human Resources/Payroll Clerk to manage payroll processing, maintain employee records, and assist with various HR functions. The role also includes processing raw material receipts in Oracle and supporting finance tasks. A high level of confidentiality and strong time management skills are essential to be successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.

• Ensure statutory deductions, PAYE, and HSUR filings are calculated and submitted by required deadlines.

• Remit pension contributions and submit credit union and trade union deductions promptly.

• Verify and reconcile leave records with Kronos prior to payroll processing and maintain leave accruals.

• Prepare payroll reports to support journal entries and management reporting.

• Maintain accurate employee records and payroll system data, including Employee Central.

• Ensure new hires complete "fit for work" medicals and enroll eligible employees in benefit plans.

• Track back-payments related to union negotiations.

• Prepare and upload TD4 forms by the statutory annual deadline.

• Process employee claims and other ad hoc payroll or HR-related reports as required.

• Assist with submitting salesman remittances and cheques to the bank in the absence of the Accounts Receivable Clerk.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field

• At least five (5) years' end to end hands-on payroll processing experience, with HR support experience an asset.

• Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end payroll processing, including payroll reconciliations and statutory compliance.

• Strong attention to detail, proficiency with payroll systems, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Solid working knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to payroll processing.

• Familiarity with Oracle or similar enterprise systems is considered an asset.

• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritize payroll-critical tasks.

• Well-developed organizational and communication skills.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, along with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
