ADM is seeking a strategic and results-driven Global Ocean Freight Director to lead our dynamic Global Ocean Freight (GOF) team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of ADM's ocean freight operations, driving commercial success and operational excellence in the fast-paced, global shipping markets. You will play a pivotal role in executing ADM's freight strategies, optimizing vessel chartering, and enhancing supply chain efficiencies across our global operations.

Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Trade, your key responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership:

• Collaborate with local and global stakeholders to develop and execute ADM's global ocean freight strategies.

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in freight operations to achieve cost optimization and service excellence.

• Analyze global freight markets with a focus on key vessel types (e.g., Panamax, Supramax) to guide decision-making and strengthen ADM's competitive position.

Commercial Excellence:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vessel owners, and market partners to expand ADM's global freight network.

• Oversee freight positions and vessel chartering across time, period, and voyage charters, ensuring commercial and operational efficiency.

• Leverage ADM's internal commodity flows to identify opportunities for risk management and value creation.

Operational Oversight:

• Collaborate with operations teams to improve execution standards, service delivery, and cargo flow optimization.

• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, environmental standards, and ADM's sustainability goals.

• Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks such as port congestion, geopolitical disruptions, and market volatility.

Market Analysis and Insights:

• Provide timely and actionable market insights to support agile decision-making across ADM's global freight operations.

• Monitor freight indices, trade lanes, and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities and guide ADM's strategic direction.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global team of freight professionals, fostering collaboration and accountability.

• Promote ADM's "We Are One ADM" values, cultivating a culture of innovation, diversity, and continuous learning.

• Drive talent development through coaching, training, and performance management.

Your Profile

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in global logistics, ocean freight operations, or commodity shipping, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Proven expertise in dry bulk ocean freight markets, including Panamax and Supramax vessels, freight indices, trade lanes, and chartering contracts

Skills:

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities to navigate complex global freight markets.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience building relationships across diverse geographies.

• Demonstrated ability to manage risk, negotiate contracts, and optimize freight operations.

• Proficiency in logistics systems and tools (e.g., TMS, ERP, analytics platforms).

Leadership Qualities:

• Team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to inspire and lead diverse teams.

• Commitment to integrity, honesty, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

• Critical thinker with a proven track record of problem-solving and driving results.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

• Relevant certifications in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) are a plus.
