Your role:
  • Creation of winning flavors for the beverage category
Responsibilities:
  • Development from first principles of robust, reproducible, creative and innovative beverage flavors across a broad range of flavor types aligned with business needs (sensory, costs, regulation, innovation)
  • Work in close collaboration with food scientists and ingredient & technology experts to develop flavor solutions
  • Ability to match moderately difficult flavours
  • Create using multiple flavor delivery systems and flavor creation suitable for clean and clear labelling. This includes emulsion, encapsulation and spray drying within local regulatory guidelines.
  • Build a strong Flavor Portfolio
  • Project manage and lead moderately difficult projects
  • Assist in the training and the development of flavorist trainees who are part of the ADM Academy of Future Flavorists
  • Support of Sales and Product Management activities with flavor expertise and participate in customer visits
  • Work closely together with CD&D, Sales, Product Management, Regulatory, Quality, Purchasing and Operations
  • Development of replacements of existing materials and botanicals, ensuring the integrity of formulas with new materials
  • Ensure the cost effectiveness of existing flavors
  • Support product transfer process by adapting formulas to local requirements
  • Continuous optimization of the creative process, work flows and tools - Develop jointly with production GCP (good creative practices). Optimize Flavor Production and monitor implementation
Your profile:
  • Science Degree in Chemistry, Food Science/Food Technology or comparable education
  • 5 Years experience with a major Flavor House
  • Proven development of successful flavors
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of Flavor raw materials and flavor manufacturing processes and their application properties (liquid, spray drying, encapsulation)
  • Understanding of commercial and economic aspects of the business
  • Familiar with EU regulation and critical substances for Germany
  • Clear understanding of sensory and analytical tools supporting an efficient and effective way of working
  • Fluent language skills in English and German appreciated
