Purpose:

Support the BU and market unit by providing timely, accurate and cost-effective financial and management reporting in accordance with local requirements and ADM policy. Provide financial stewardship of company assets and activities by safeguarding company assets, maintaining a strong internal control environment and implementing and overseeing efficient, well-controlled financial transaction processing systems. In this role, he/she will be responsible for continuous improvement in the area of financial accounting, controlling, month-end closing process, internal controls and compliance. This also includes communication with stakeholders and a strong business partnership with local management.

Your Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting
  • Ensure the timely development of relevant and reliable financial information to all 'stakeholders' (local statutory reporting, MU business performance, Region and Corporate)
  • Lead and be responsible for month-end closing process timely and ensure its accuracy and enhance its efficiency
  • Directly accountable for all financial information sent to the Country General Manager and Corporate Office in regards to accuracy and detail.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Drive functional excellence through standardization of processes and continuous development of team members, ensuring agility to keep up with business needs/changes
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax and legal regulations as well as the US GAAP group standards.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and PL review monthly
Internal Controls
  • Ensure an effective control organization structure to support the business
  • Implement controls to mitigate business risks (e.g., financial, operational, inventory management and compliance risks)
  • Drive SOX agenda to ensure effective controls are in place
Statutory Compliance and Tax
  • Ensure compliance with all local and corporate statutory laws, rules and regulations
  • Identify and pursue implementation of tax saving initiatives
  • Lead all tax and compliance audits
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements/liaise with external auditors
Coaching and Leading Finance staff
  • Build requisite general accounting, tax and administrative support capabilities in subordinates and Finance staff


Your Profile

Education/Qualifications:
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related professional qualifications
  • University graduation, major in Finance and Accounting. Qualified CIMA/ACCA/CPA/CMA is preferable
Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of finance & accounting related role with at least 3 years experienced as controller with proven record
  • Prior experience in Big four accounting firm and fast paced, matrix MNC environment (US MNC preferred)
  • Good knowledge in US GAAP and local GAAP.
  • Familiar with all local reporting, tax, treasury and regulatory issues in Philippines
  • SOX internal control knowledge
  • Proficiency of Relevant Systems (ERP). Knowledge of ERP system such as Dynamics 365, BFC and HFM is a plus
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Microsoft PowerPoint

Experience acting as a strategic business partner to management, keeping abreast of the latest economic and trading environment and the latest accounting standards and disclosure requirement
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluent in written/spoken English
