Supporting the Engineering Maintenance Department, we are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate Engineering Stores person to source, purchase, and organise the stock within the Engineering Stores. To assist with the administration of the Engineering Department and support the Company with continued growth and success.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of and day to day running of the parts store.
  • Organise the stores to get the best efficiencies for the department.
  • Source parts, obtain quotes, and raise purchase requisitions, (PRs).
  • Ensure parts are delivered within stated lead times, chase by e-mail and phone where necessary.
  • Stock take on a routine basis, ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained.
  • Record, monitor and report departmental spend.
  • Working with the current systems and identify improvements and support installation of new systems and processes.
  • Support the business with continual H&S compliance and improvement.
  • Support Plan Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities and organise stock required prior to Preventative Maintenance.
  • Ensure all inventory, paperwork and spreadsheets are kept up to date.
  • Support the Engineering Manager with organising and distribution of shift patterns and Work Orders.
  • Collate data and record department KPIs.


Skills & Abilities:

  • Organizational Skills: Maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, and organizing the store effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in inventory records, material identification, and documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Communicating effectively with engineers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing issues related to stock levels, ordering, or supply chain logistics.
  • Computer Skills: In particular working with ERP systems and Excel, Word, Publisher etc. Utilizing software for inventory management, record keeping, and other administrative tasks.
  • Knowledge of Engineering: Understanding of engineering materials, parts, and equipment.


Education & Experience:

  • Education: Minimum GCSE in English and Maths, with some relevant technical training or courses preferred.
  • Experience in a stores or warehouse environment, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering setting.
