ADM unlocks the power of nature to enrich the quality of life. As part of ADM's Regional Sustainability team, theEMEA Sustainability Managerwill play a key role in advancing ADM's sustainability strategy across the region.
Reporting to theSenior Director, Sustainability, EMEA, LATAM & APAC this role provides sustainability expertise and program support for ADM's three business units -Ag Services and Oilseeds, Carbohydrate Solutions, and Nutrition. The successful candidate will help translate ADM's global sustainability ambitions into actionable initiatives that drive measurable environmental and social impact while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Sustainability Strategy & Program Execution
Maintain deep knowledge of ADM's sustainability goals and initiatives, including efforts to reduce environmental impact (water, waste, greenhouse gases, energy) and promote sustainable agriculture.
Identify new sustainability opportunities and implement projects that support ADM's corporate sustainability objectives.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prioritize and integrate sustainability initiatives across business operations.
Technical Expertise & Standards
Develop and maintain a working understanding of carbon accounting frameworks (GHG Protocol, Product Environmental Footprint, SBTi, ISO, etc.) and apply them at product, project, and inventory levels.
Understand ADM's product portfolio and how sustainability programs impact products, including potential claims related to carbon intensity, GHG reductions, renewable energy, recyclability, and sustainable sourcing.
Participate in the development and review of external sustainability standards and protocols, assessing their implications for ADM's operations and product portfolio.
Stay current on carbon market developments, sustainability regulations, and reporting requirements relevant to ADM's businesses in EMEA.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, customers, and industry associations to advance ADM's sustainability agenda.
Collaborate with internal teams - including origination, sales, communications, legal, government relations, strategy, and utilities - to ensure alignment and effective implementation of sustainability initiatives.
Act as a thought leader and advocate for sustainability within ADM and in external forums.
Communications & Certifications
Serve as a subject matter expert for marketing and sales teams, reviewing and contributing to sustainability-related materials such as sell sheets, publications, web content, and customer presentations.
Support the development and expansion of sustainability-related product certification schemes (e.g., ISCC, US SSAP, CSAP).
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business administration, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in sustainability or environmental management.
Experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies in a corporate setting.
Strong knowledge of sustainability best practices and industry trends.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English, proficiency in one or more languages would be a plus.
Comfortable working in matrixed environment
Ability to influence and support cross functional teams and to collaborate across many different disciplines
Travel up to 30%
