About the Role

We're seeking a Lead Hand Electrician to join our Port Colborne team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing operations while producing high-quality results that meet ADM's standards. The position involves both hands-on electrical work and team coordination in a fast-paced industrial environment.

You'll provide leadership to the electrical team, support maintenance operations, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards.

What You'll Do
  • Provide daily leadership, direction, and coordination to electricians and maintenance team members

  • Act as a liaison between supervision and the electrical team, communicating priorities and updates

  • Support scheduling and assignment of work orders to ensure timely completion

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to safety rules and guidelines

  • Assist with training, mentoring, and development of team members

  • Troubleshoot industrial controls, including Allen-Bradley (AB) PLCs, VFDs, motor control systems, and electronic equipment

  • Perform and oversee installation of conduits, wiring, lighting fixtures, transformers, switchgear, PLC-controlled systems, motors, and conveyor systems

  • Install a wide variety of electrical devices and control circuits

  • Repair, rebuild, and upgrade electrical equipment

  • Read and interpret ladder logic diagrams and apply PLC principles

  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure completion of work orders

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department

  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of electrical and electronic tools and equipment

  • Perform other assigned tasks as required



What You Bring
  • Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and electronic systems

  • PLC troubleshooting experience required; AB PLC experience preferred

  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), instrumentation, and calibration

  • Strong computer skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • Strong commitment to safety and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards



Education and Experience
  • Must hold valid trade certifications:

    • 442A - Industrial Electrician

    • 309A - Construction & Maintenance Electrician

  • 3-5 years of experience leading or managing a team

  • Leadership or supervisory experience in an industrial environment considered an asset
