Job Summary

The Hosting and Compute Services Director leads a combined team of 19 ADM resources and approximately 72 contractors delivering strategy, operations, and optimization of compute infrastructure for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role drives high availability, performance, and reliability of compute services, managing capacity planning and leading modernization efforts such as cloud migration, virtualization, and containerization. The Director establishes transparent metrics to demonstrate IT infrastructure's contribution to business outcomes, leads high-performing engineering teams, negotiates vendor contracts, and implements automation and optimization strategies. Key responsibilities include maintaining security and compliance, managing disaster recovery capabilities, and partnering with stakeholders to align compute services with business objectives and technology roadmaps.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead global compute strategy across on-premise, hybrid, and virtualized environments supporting 42,000+ users and business transformation goals
  • Manage a $50 M+ budget, including developing financial plans, monitoring spending targets, and delivering year-over-year cost efficiency improvements
  • Oversee compute architecture, engineering, and delivery with a focus on automation frameworks, virtualization solutions, and scalable performance
  • Lead demand management for infrastructure services, translating business requirements into compute capacity plans and technology investment roadmaps
  • Drive operational excellence through standardized processes, proactive monitoring, and improvements to IT Service Management (ITSM) maturity to enhance reliability
  • Manage capacity planning to forecast compute growth, optimize utilization rates, and align infrastructure resources with business requirements
  • Execute FinOps initiatives that deliver cost transparency, accurate forecasting, and efficiency improvements across services
  • Partner with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and application teams to align compute roadmaps with enterprise technology strategies
  • Define KPIs, scorecards, and performance metrics that quantify compute service value, operational maturity, and IT infrastructure contribution
  • Build an accountable, collaborative culture focused on customer satisfaction, fiscal responsibility, and delivering measurable business results
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure leadership managing large-scale compute environments, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role
  • Expertise in hybrid compute, virtualization, and automation across data center sites
  • Proven ability to drive efficiency, cost optimization, and global transformation initiatives
  • Strong background in capacity planning, FinOps, and performance management at scale
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management across global technology teams
  • Demonstrated success building high-performing, customer-focused IT organizations
