Director, Corporate Strategy - Chicago, IL

The Director, Corporate Strategy will play a crucial role in preparing CEO Board materials, organizing Executive Committee (EC) meetings, coordinating the preparation of materials, supporting the EC growth workshop, and leading the development of the strategic 5-year plan. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical skills and a proven track record in strategy consulting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of CEO Board Materials: Develop, compile, and present comprehensive materials for Board meetings, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Organizing Executive Committee Meetings: Plan, organize, and coordinate Executive Committee meetings, including agenda setting, logistics, and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinating Preparation of Materials: Collaborate with various departments to gather, synthesize, and prepare materials for EC meetings, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Supporting EC Growth Workshop: Assist in the planning and execution of the Executive Committee growth workshop, including content development, facilitation, and follow-up activities.
  • Strategic 5-Year Plan Development: Lead the development and execution of the company's strategic 5-year plan, including market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and strategic initiatives identification.
  • Strategic Analysis and Insights: Conduct in-depth analysis of industry trends, competitive landscape, and internal capabilities to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment and successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the progress of strategic initiatives and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
  • MBA from a top-tier business school is preferred.
  • Experience in strategy consulting, preferably with a top-tier consulting firm preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to senior leadership and Board members.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in applying strategic frameworks and tools to guide analysis and decision-making and ability to create structured frameworks to break down complex problems into manageable components.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects with a structured approach, including setting objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Financial skillset needed to develop financial models, conduct financial analyses, and support decision-making processes.
  • Proficient in gathering, cleaning, and analyzing data to inform decision-making.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
