Your Responsibilities


The Deputy Manager - Human Resources is a critical HR role responsible for end-to-end HR operations, statutory compliance, and industrial relations across the Tarapur HN Plant, Mumbai office, and field associates supporting HN & AN businesses. Reporting to the General Manager - HR, the role requires an experienced HR professional (8-10 years) with strong expertise in managing multi-location compliance frameworks, complex labour environments, and unionized workforces.

In addition to plant HR responsibilities, the role will also lead and support key India HR initiatives such as Rewards & Recognition, Group Insurance (Medical, Accident, Term Life), and other country-level people programs.

The role demands high ownership, strong execution, and the ability to independently manage compliance, employee relations, and workforce dynamics while ensuring alignment with ADM's standards and business prioritie

1. HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management
  • Oversee end-to-end HR operations at the plant.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and digital HR database.
  • Provide timely inputs for payroll processing and ensure data accuracy.
  • Contractor Labour Management including compliances
  • Manpower planning, assist in recruitment process.
2. Statutory Compliance & Industrial Relations
  • Owner for all HR & legal compliances/returns. Fulfill the statutory compliances on timely basis with respect to PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, MLWF etc
  • Employee and industrial relations, handling union matters
  • Maintain compliance documentation for audits and government inspections.
  • Handle disciplinary procedures end-to-end as per legal requirements.
  • Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies on HR-related matters.
  • Address employee grievances promptly and fairly to maintain industrial harmony.
  • Handling/assistance in the matter related to legal and court cases in labour related matters
  • Ensure employee communication and engagement in the Marathi language.
3. Employee Engagement, Welfare & CSR
  • Support implementation of employee engagement initiatives and cultural programs at the plant.
  • Drive ADM Cares / CSR projects in coordination with local teams.
  • Facilitate employee welfare schemes such as Mediclaim, PF, and ESIC benefits.
4. Learning & Development
  • Implement training programs as per the ADM training calendar.
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with learning requirements.
5. Policy Implementation & Country HR Initiatives
  • Ensure effective implementation and awareness of corporate HR policies across the plant.
  • Lead and support country HR initiatives -
    • R&R policy and quarterly roll out
    • Group Medical, Accident & Term Life policies and related maintainence,
    • SuccessFactors data administration,
    • POSH compliance.
  • Participate in broader HR projects to build capability and exposure across the HR function.
Your Profile
  • MBA in Human Resources from a recognized university.
  • 8-10 years of progressive HR experience in medium to large manufacturing environments, including exposure to field sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of Indian labor laws, statutory compliance, and industrial relations practices.
  • Proven experience in managing payroll inputs, attendance systems, disciplinary procedures, and third-party workforce administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with employees, union representatives, and government authorities.
  • Fluent in Marathi, English and Hindi, both written and spoken with the ability to communicate effectively across all workforce levels.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing plant HR operations with a focus on compliance, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Open to travelling
