Corporate Security Specialist - Security Systems - Decatur, IL

This is a non-exempt level position.

Position Summary

This position offers an opportunity to play an active role in supporting the mission of the Corporate Security team with responsibility for both hands-on technical support and security systems project coordination. This role enhances the Corporate Security Department's ability to monitor the Company's physical assets and human capital; assess and respond to enterprise-level threats; and rapidly analyze and communicate critical information to key stakeholders. The position is responsible for installation support, troubleshooting, system optimization, and project execution for integrated security systems including CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, and related technologies. This position is based in Decatur, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, support, and troubleshoot CCTV systems including cameras, NVRs, and related infrastructure.
  • Install, support, and troubleshoot card access control systems, credentialing platforms, and door hardware.
  • Install, support, and troubleshoot alarm systems and monitoring software.
  • Manage and maintain the door key control program.
  • Follow troubleshooting guidelines and refer to technical manuals, change notices, and bulletins to diagnose and repair equipment or systems.
  • Support preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
  • Coordinate security system projects from initiation through completion including scope development, vendor scheduling, and documentation.
  • Assist with integration and standardization of global security systems.
  • Collaborate with IT, Facilities, Engineering, and external vendors to ensure proper implementation.
  • Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide security system recommendations.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Coordinate contractor access and oversee third-party technical work.
  • Serve as liaison between Global Security and site stakeholders.
  • Conduct security audits and inspections as required by law or corporate standards.
  • Maintain documentation, system records, and change logs.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate security standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Vocational Training required.
  • Three (3+) years of experience with low voltage systems and integrated security equipment.
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for technology requests during emergency response and general system support.
  • Travel approximately 10% for site inspections and project coordination.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience coordinating enterprise-level security system projects.
  • Industry certifications related to security systems or low voltage technology.
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with global system standardization initiatives.
