Contracts Manager - Erlanger, KY

Role Overview:

The Contracts Manager will be a member of the ADM Legal team, supporting the Nutrition business unit. This position is responsible for overseeing the processes related to reviewing, negotiating, and tracking a wide range of commercial contracts while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards. The Contracts Manager works closely with in-house counsel, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient, accurate, and timely contract execution. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: Partner with in-house attorneys to review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts with third parties, ensuring alignment with business goals and legal requirements.
  • Template and Playbook Development: Create and maintain contract templates and negotiation playbooks to drive consistency, mitigate risk, and streamline the contract process.
  • Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Ensure all contracts adhere to company policies, insurance standards, and applicable laws. Identify potential risks and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Contract Workflow Oversight: Drive accurate tracking of assigned contracts and workflows in the contract tracking system.
  • Internal Collaboration and Support: Serve as a resource to internal business teams, providing guidance on contract terms, negotiation strategies, and risk-related questions.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Coordinate with Legal, Insurance, Procurement, and other departments to ensure contract terms align with ADM's operational and strategic objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related field is required. Equivalent business experience may also be considered.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in contract management, legal operations, or a related role, preferably in a corporate or regulated environment.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of contract law and legal terminology. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software, workflow automation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite is required. Familiarity with legal databases and e-signature tools is preferred.
  • Competencies: High attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. Ability to work independently while supporting multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
