Essential Job Functions:
  • Holds Safety paramount and fosters a culture in which only zero is acceptable.
    • Models best practices and ensures compliance with plant safety systems and policies
    • Interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies
    • Engages with operators and tasks to ensure potential hazards are recognized and mitigated or eliminated. Re-iterates mindset of "We do I safely or we don't do it."
    • Performs safety focused audits to pro-actively identify and remedy hazards or gaps in safety processes.
    • Develops, updates and reviews SOPs for routine activities and more complicated non-routine job tasks.
    • Develops, updates, and approves ESLP modifications and improvements.
    • Provides resources, knowledge and coaching to ensure that front line operators and leadman have tools to safely and effectively perform job tasks.
    • Assists Superintendent in investigating and administering discipline for safety violations.
    • Is involved with sitewide safety committees and helps shape Complex policies
  • Leads the Operation of the plant to meet KPIs and SQE Expectations.
    • Effective communicator of plant goals and objectives to the operations team.
    • Daily engagement with routine and non-routine tasks
    • Provides direction, planning and action items to shift leads to allow for equipment to
      • Be taken out of service and locked out for maintenance
      • Be unlocked, checked out and returned to service
    • Promotes effective flow of information and needs between front line operators and maintenance team to quickly troubleshoot and remedy issues.
    • Coaches shifts on review and response process to ensure timely and effective resolutions to Red KPIs
    • Makes decisions to steer the plant when process upsets occur back to plant goals
    • Takes calls outside of normal work week to provide direction and assistance for the plant to meet production needs.
    • Provides coaching and discipline for Operator Job performance issues.
    • Is the primary point of contact for the Facility Environmental department and partners with them to ensure environmental compliance
    • Conducts Daily Review and Response for critical SQE reports and deviations.
    • Provides communication and direction to front line operations for material handling needs.
    • Develops schedule for operators and ensures adequate manpower is available for work assigned.
    • In absence of Department Superintendent; takes on added roles and responsibilities to Lead the Cogen Operations
  • Models the way of the Performance Excellence Journey:
    • Promotes the PE methodology and process to drive sustainable results.
    • Works closely with Subject Matter Experts to develop a strong Continuous Colleague Development process for the Plant
    • Work proactively to ensure that the Plant can meet Deployment Plans
    • Effectively escalates Results, Status, and Needs to department superintendent.
    • Actively promotes the use of PE pillars and coaches others to complete active deployments.
