Job Purpose:

Chemist/NIR Technician is responsible in performing NIR analysis as prescribed in the Work Instruction Manual. He/she is responsible to monitor trend of analysis and report any deviation to the Laboratory Supervisor.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Analyze in the NIR machine sample of raw materials and finished products from Bulacan plant and Toll milling plants.
  • Release NIR result of raw materials to QA Raw Material/Finished Good Inspector as part of the acceptance criteria.
  • Issue a Non conformity report for non conforming raw materials to purchasing, followed by a RM disposition slip.
  • Send a Non conformity report and Request for corrective action (RFCA) for non conforming finished product to Mill Supervisor whether rejected or hold for further evaluation.
  • Issue finished product disposition.
  • Prepare samples of finished goods and raw materials both macro and micro according to the monthly quality control plan and/or other special samples for sending to Upscience Vietnam or local external laboratory.
  • Prepare required documents and facilitate the sending of samples to Upscience Vietnam or local external laboratory including samples for BAI registration.
  • Prepare sample for monthly NIR follow-up calibration performance.
  • Monitor monthly control chart. Any deviation will be reported to Quality Head.
  • Perform mycotoxin and brix determination.
  • Schedule water sampling and testing based on HACCP requirements.
  • Receive raw material and finished product samples and assign laboratory code in RM data base.
  • Facilitate NAV transactions (movement of Finished goods from Mill to FG Warehouse, purchase request creation, reclassification from FG to RM) .
  • Create and coordinate with the purchasing for all purchase request created.
  • Conduct monthly inventory of laboratory consumables and schedule annual calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Analyze water activity of fish feeds and other livestock feeds pet using water activity meter and record results.
  • Perform PDI test of all pellet samples submitted by the QC inspector and record results.
  • Perform granulation test of all mash and crumble products submitted by the QC inspector and record result.
  • Monitor and change retention samples every week inside the laboratory.
  • Maintain the working condition of NIR machine and report any malfunction of the software and hardware to the Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Monitor and Investigate Customer complaint.
  • Submit weekly summary of the number of samples analyze in the NIR in daily operation.
  • Maintain record of maintenance activity conducted in the machine. Record the details in the Instrument Log sheet.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • The job requires to work in morning shift, overtime and weekend if necessary.


Your Profile:

Educational Qualifications:
  • Graduate of B.S Chemistry, Biology, Chemical engineering or any applied Science Course
  • Must be a Licensed Chemist/Licensed Chemical Technician
  • Experience in laboratory operation is an advantage but fresh graduate may qualify.
  • Above average competence in Microsoft office applications
Experience: no prior experience in animal industry required but is an advantage
