At ADM Global Ocean Freight (GOF), chartering is a commercial, value-creating function at the heart of our global trading platform. We are seeking an exceptional Chartering Manager to play a pivotal role in managing and growing our APAC dry bulk freight portfolio, with a focus on the Supramax and Panamax segments.

Reporting to the Head of Pacific Freight, this is a senior, commercially influential role combining market execution, analytical decision-making, risk management, and business development. You will operate at the intersection of chartering, trading and business development.

The Role

As a core member of the Global Ocean Freight team, you will take end-to-end responsibility for freight performance across assigned trades, supporting both existing flows and future growth initiatives.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial chartering of Supramax and Panamax vessels on both voyage and time charter basis, aligned with the in-house trading strategy and market conditions
  • Analyze freight markets, indices and commodities to assess trends, relative value, and forward risk, translating insight into decisive commercial action
  • Optimize internal cargo flows by securing competitive freight while actively managing market exposure, volatility, and operational risk
  • Partner closely with trading teams to structure freight solutions that protect margins, enhance optionality, and support portfolio performance
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute freight-driven opportunities, maintaining strong, credible relationships with shipowners, brokers, and cargo owners
  • Apply sound risk management principles, including understanding and use of freight hedging instruments where appropriate
  • Deliver high-quality market intelligence, forward views, and exposure analysis through structured daily and ad-hoc reporting to global stakeholders
  • Ensure rigorous execution discipline, from fixture negotiation through post-fixture review and performance evaluation
  • Represent ADM professionally at industry meetings, conferences, and market events, reinforcing the company's commercial reputation and market connectivity
Your Profile

You are a highly regarded chartering professional with a strong analytical mindset, commercial gravitas, and a proven ability to perform under pressure.

You bring:
  • Deep expertise in the dry bulk freight market, including vessel economics, freight indices, market analysis, and charter party structures
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in dry bulk chartering, across both voyage and time charter structures (Supramax and/or Panamax exposure an advantage)
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to assess market data, freight curves, and relative value to support commercial decisions
  • Solid understanding of freight hedging techniques and basic risk management frameworks to manage volatility, position exposure, and downside risk
  • Discipline in freight calculation, voyage economics, and margin analysis, supported by modern analytical and chartering systems
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior internal stakeholders and external counterparties with credibility
  • A demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and grow long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with owners, brokers, and customers
  • A proactive, accountable mindset with a continuous improvement approach to both commercial results and professional development
