ADM's global Nutrition business is represented by Human Nutrition, Health & Wellness and Animal Nutrition divisions. The Health & Wellness and Animal Nutrition Research teams are present in 4 locations (Spain, North America, France and Switzerland) and focus on developing cutting-edge technological and science-based products.

The successful candidate will report to the R&D Center's Director and will be based in Lausanne, Switzerland. This individual will play a key role within the team, handling advanced cell culture work, including the development of organoids and organ-on-chip systems, as well as co-culture experiments involving mammalian cells and bacteria. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to facility management duties such as organizing waste, monitoring equipment, and addressing building issues.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize advanced cell culture techniques, including work with primary cells, stem cells, organoid development, and organ-on-chip systems.
  • Perform co-culture experiments involving mammalian cells and bacteria, ensuring scientific rigor, reproducibility, and innovation.
  • Conduct high-resolution imaging using advanced microscopy techniques for cellular and microbiological research.
  • Analyze experimental data, report findings, propose technical solutions, and lead data interpretation and presentation.
  • Ensure sufficient availability and timely replenishment of laboratory consumables while maintaining an organized lab workflow, including equipment maintenance and pipette calibration.
  • Write and Work within SOPs and technical documentation applicable in BSL2 labs and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and calibration while addressing building issues and coordinating with facility services.
  • Organize and manage waste disposal in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain records of facility management activities and provide regular updates to the management team.
Your Profile:
  • Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in advanced cell culture techniques, including work with primary cells, stem cells, organoids, and organ-on-chip systems.
  • Proven expertise in laboratory management, including organizing waste disposal, monitoring and maintaining equipment, and addressing building-related issues.
  • Hands-on experience with co-culture systems involving mammalian cells and bacteria, along with a strong understanding of microbiology techniques, is highly desirable but not mandatory, providing an added advantage for interdisciplinary research.
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues across different teams.
  • Demonstrated scientific rigor and meticulous attention to detail in experimental design and execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively as part of both local and global teams.
