ADM Protexin LTD manufacture innovative, research based live bacteria products of the highest quality for the veterinary, human, agriculture and equine healthcare markets. With head office, manufacturing and distribution facilities based in Somerset, ADM Protexin distribute to over 90 countries worldwide.

We are excited to offer an internship opportunity within our Creation, Design and Development (CD&D) Department, designed to provide valuable experience for a duration of 6, 9, or 12 months, depending on the requirements of your degree program. As an intern, you will engage in hands-on development work in both our laboratory and pilot plant, while also gaining insights into the structural framework and systems necessary for scaling these developments into our production facility. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about probiotics and dietary supplements who wish to contribute to a company dedicated to creating high-quality, effective products that promote the health and well-being of both humans and their pets.

Job Purpose

Part of the time will be working alongside the development team and part in with the specifications team, depending upon need and

time.

Specifications team function:
  • Creation and management of product specifications and other technical files, certificates of conformance and composition documents during development and full product lifecycle ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
  • Support artwork reviews & B2B2C costing requests.
  • Build product structures on our ERP system, IFS.
Development team function:
  • Assist in the development of powder, paste, capsules, tablet, and other product formats as well as the improvement of existing products with the ADM Protexin development department.
  • Keeping a clean and organised laboratory space.
  • Support the development and set up of trials.
Qualifications:
  • Working towards a Degree in physical / material sciences, chemistry or equivalent is desirable.
  • Understanding of microbiology would be very useful.
Skills and Competencies:
  • A good level of IT knowledge is essential to operate our ERP system and to efficiently present reports.
  • A problem-solving mindset and an enthusiasm for working with development equipment.
  • Self-motivation and initiative.
  • Communication.
  • Computer literate.
  • Prioritisation.
  • Attention to detail
