Location: Spain - strong preference for candidates based near Madrid or Barcelona (home office)

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Veterinary International Business Manager (VIBM) you will assist first with launching, and later with managing the sales activities for our range of veterinary nutraceutical products in Spain.

Main Responsibilities:

Pre-launch stage
  • Establish route to market for Protexin Veterinary products (including signing agreements with wholesalers/logistics partners etc.)
  • Assist with finalizing translations and designs for Spanish product packaging artwork
  • Work with the Protexin marketing team (UK) to design/translate product literature, training presentations, and other marketing materials for the Spanish market
  • Plan local brand activities for launch
  • Begin discussions with key accounts (vet corporate groups)
  • Assist with recruitment of the rest of the Spanish team
Post-launch stage
  • Perform the territory manager role within your own geographical territory
  • Promote the use of Protexin Veterinary range through the education of vets in your territory
  • Maintain regular channels of communication with customers
  • Target at least 5 clinic visits per day
  • Perform technical presentations in clinics
  • Utilize key account management to grow sales in your territory (tresponsibility is temporary and will continue only until the sales team is fully onboarded; afterward, the role will shift to focus on team leadership and country-level strategic activities)
  • Line management responsibility for Territory Managers
  • Alongside VIBM, monitor country level sales and revenue, and manage wholesaler stock levels and orders from Protexin
  • Liaise with the UK marketing team to develop and deliver the annual marketing/brand plan in Spain
  • Work with VIBM and other cross functional teams to expand product range in Spain
  • Represent the business at selected national (+/- international) conferences
  • Build a network of KOLs to engage with and support the brand in Spain
  • Remain up to date on key competitor products, giving feedback to the marketing and new product development teams where appropriate
  • Proactive planning and delivery of other activities to increase sales of Protexin Veterinary products in Spain
  • Carrying out any work which the company may from time to time deem necessary
Skills & Abilities:
  • Highly driven and proactive, with a high level of energy and motivation to support our brand's growth in Spain
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
  • Skilled and confident communicator, able to build relationships and influence decision makers
  • Negotiation skills, commercial acumen and consultative selling
  • Professional presentation development and delivery through concise written and visual representations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Designing and implementing brand plans
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Although based at home, there will also be significant national (and some international) travel, and a full driving license and flexibility to travel and make overnight stays is essential.

Education & Experience:
  • A relevant degree in business or marketing or a veterinary/scientific education background with significant experience in a commercial role
  • Significant experience in a commercial role within the Spanish veterinary industry, with a strong network of industry connections
  • Proven track record of leading a team
