The Job

ADM Japan is looking for a trustworthy and passionate professional as the Account Manager for Carbohydrate Solution business division.

As growing business division and part of company's overall development strategy, Account Manager will represent Carbohydrate Solution products which are mainly some sweeteners (glucose syrup, crystalline fructose, dextrose, maltodextrin, acidulant, alcohol sugar, erythritol, maltitol, xylitol, high intention sugar: sucralose, acesulfame K) from China, Europe and US, and acidulant from U.S., and wheat gluten from Canada. But, mainly looking for the sales representative of sweeteners product.

We import into Japan on CIF but also a portion we manage importation and local delivery. Based in Tokyo, the individual will be charged to supporting key sales activities and selling the products all over Japan.

This role will require a highly motivated individual with a sound track record in client management and strong background on food and beverages market in Japan. This candidate must possess well developed strengths in sales management.

Your Responsibilities
  • Meet and exceed company goals for profitable revenue growth of the full ADM Carbo hydration product portfolio with assigned key strategic accounts.
  • Develop and implement sales growth strategy, including identifying key business opportunities and detail action plan.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with existing and new customers.
  • Visit all key customers on a regular basis and ensure customer needs are being met.
  • Monitor and work with internal counterparts to import the products into Japan.
  • Manage closely 3rd party agents on importation, stock management and delivery arrangement to customers.
  • Work and coordinate with ADM sales team in other markets on cross-market projects and pipelines with multinational/regional customers.
  • Identify emerging markets, new prospects and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Provide regular business updates and monthly reports regarding project pipelines of key account customers, new concept and proposition, competitions and market information.
  • Ensure ADM portfolio is appropriately represented at relevant level to customers, prospect, and industrial network.
  • Diligently implement all company policy requirement including reporting, compliance, training and other items as assigned by Management.
  • Prepare regular forecasts and budgets based on the ADM time-limits, principles and formats
  • Help and support resolution of technical and commercial complaints together with the technical and production teams of ADM units.
  • Perform other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned by management.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor degree or above, major in food technology & chemical related preferred
  • Minimum 10-15 years' experience in selling with strong understanding of food ingredients and their applications in food ingredients
  • Experience in selling sweeteners is an advantage
  • Knowledge of importation and logistics is an advantage
  • Proven record in developing new business and establishing customers' relationships
  • Experience managing and expanding existing customer relationships and demonstrated success in development new business
  • Working experience in a large multinational company preferred
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with key accounts
