2nd Shift Elevator Supervisor - Sauget, IL

This is a salaried, exempt-level position.

Position Summary:

The Supervisor will assist in all day-to-day activities of the elevator. This includes loading/unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, and storage of goods. The Supervisor is expected to maintain a safe and sanitary workplace in compliance with company policies and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, etc.).

This role is responsible for training and leading hourly employees in operations, safety, and facility maintenance. The Supervisor will perform special assignments and initiate improvements to help meet operational objectives. This includes establishing and maintaining preventative maintenance, sanitation, and operational schedules.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Execute daily operational plans and prioritize shift work based on team skills and experience
  • Ensure personnel safety by following all health, safety, and regulatory standards; promote a zero-injury culture
  • Identify and resolve environmental, safety, and GMP hazards to protect employees and product integrity
  • Maintain open communication, address employee concerns, and promote a positive work environment
  • Support and train hourly employees to improve performance and job proficiency
  • Monitor maintenance performance and implement efficiency improvements
  • Provide feedback, reinforce safe behaviors, and enforce discipline when needed
  • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues and maintain production systems, utilities, and facilities
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to enhance safety, quality, and equipment reliability
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure daily activities align with corporate policies
  • Lead preventive maintenance efforts to reduce downtime
  • Work with the Site Superintendent to execute and optimize work schedules
  • Maintain documentation and identify opportunities for cost savings
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience developing and leading teams, preferably in an agricultural, industrial, or manufacturing setting
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications (email, report writing, spreadsheets)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to train and mentor others
  • Experience writing operational or safety reports
Physical & Work Environment Expectations:
  • Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, walking, and reaching throughout the workday
  • Requires a full range of physical motion to operate manual and electrically powered tools and electrical testing equipment
  • Ability to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors year-round, occasionally in dusty, noisy, or otherwise hazardous environments
Hours:

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday through Friday. Hours fluctuate based on business needs.
