Job Description Summary

The Domestic Sales Field Representative is a position promoting Anderson Hay and selling horse hay daily to high end distributors, feed stores and large farms.  This position is responsible for building long-term customer relationships and sourcing new business by cold calling and industry networking.  Travel required for in person customer calls and relationship building (80%). Communication via email and phone throughout each day with customers. In addition, attendance to industry events and travel to Ellensburg, WA for training and meetings as needed.

Job Functions

• Travel independently throughout assigned territory to find opportunity and demand for horse hay.
• Build long-term relationships with current and future customers within the region.
• Stay close to customer base to maintain relationships, build forecasts, review performance, and generate sales.
• Knowledgeable in horse nutrition and feeding.
• Communicate promptly and effectively with department for guidance on customer needs and new customer setup.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Other Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience, including relationships, in horse industry that will benefit the position.
• Sales and/or Customer Service experience in a team environment
• Strong work ethic, Principled, Humble, Passionate.
• Ability to travel independently.
• Must be a high energy team player.
• Located on the east coast

Preferred Qualifications:

• Training in livestock nutrition.
• Degree in Ag related field.
• Strong relationships in horse world.
