Provides administrative and clerical support to the feed production department. The role ensures smooth daily operations by handling documentation, scheduling, record-keeping, and communication related to feed manufacturing, raw materials, and finished products. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, type, and maintain production reports, daily logs, and batch records
- Record raw material usage, feed formulations, and production output
- Coordinate production schedules with supervisors and mill operators
- Maintain inventory records for raw materials, additives, and finished feeds
- Process purchase orders, delivery notes, and production-related documents
- File and organize quality control, safety, and compliance documents
- Assist in tracking equipment maintenance schedules and downtime reports
- Communicate with suppliers, warehouse staff, and management as required
- Handle correspondence, phone calls, and emails related to production activities
- Help with customers at the counter and scale daily
- Daily, weekly, monthly feed sampling and testing
- Assist Feed Department Manager as needed
Skills and Competencies - Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software
- Basic understanding of feed production processes and inventory systems
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Time management and multitasking abilities
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
Qualifications - Previous experience in a manufacturing, feed mill, or agricultural environment is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of animal feed production or agriculture is a plus
- Experience or Education in Office Administration or Business Administration
Working Conditions - Office-based with regular interaction with production floor personnel
- May require occasional overtime during peak production periods
- Will be working outside from time to time or as needed to complete said tasks.
