POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Retail Sales, the Territory Sales Representative needs to be an on-the-road, results-driven individual focused on sales and relationship building with farmers, growers and distributors within the Northern-area of West Central Saskatchewan. The ideal candidates will have deep understanding of agricultural products, proven sales skills and the ability to grow and manage key accounts.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive product sales in the assigned territory that meet/exceed sales target and increase market share
- Primary point of contact related to purchasing, activity planning and providing solutions
- Able to build and maintain strong and long-lasting relationships with existing and potential customers
- Actively adopt and execute The Rack’s proven sales process, with a focus on needs-based selling
- Become an expert in The Rack’s proprietary agricultural brands and other key products and services and able to effectively promote product value to customers
- Regularly monitor market trends and competitor activities to retain competitive edge
- Work with Sales Director and Retail Managers to build bottom-up business plans that drive accurate forecasting and customer success
- Promote and represent The Rack at agricultural tradeshows, events and other promotional activities
- Maintain accurate records and submit records/reports of all sales activities, opportunities, customer communication and order status using company CRM systems
- Provide ongoing post-sale support to customers to ensure expectations are being met and as part of the relationship-building process
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Business, Marketing or related field is preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in a position within the agricultural industry, with a diverse portfolio of agricultural experience, primarily in sales
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, exceptional communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation and sales skills are necessary to increase market share
- In-depth understanding of agricultural products, crops and farming processes
- Proficient in the use of computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with The Rack as a company along with products/services available
- Must hold a valid class 5 drivers license with a clean driving record
- Must live in the Northern area of West Central Saskatchewan
