POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Retail Manager, the Operations Lead is responsible for working with the retail team to ensure successful day-to-day operations. Site and office duties include: full administrative functions; working knowledge and operation of the Chemical Shed Storage; and, all other equipment and facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with all areas of the business location to ensure a professional customer experience in an accurate and timely fashion
- Location and Customer Administration
- Drive sales of all products including protection products, fertilizer, seed, specialty services
- Help grow excising/new customers by creating call lists that encompass knowledge of on farm storage and buying patterns
- Build client loyalty
- Ensure that health, safety, and security policies are adhered to
- Receive incoming inventory, ensuring all paperwork is properly tracked and processed
- All out-going product orders follow protocol with correct documentation in place
- Maintenance of location to ensure the yard and equipment meets company standards
- Inventory is tracked and entered into accounting system as per company procedures
- Operation of forklift for shipping/receiving products via totes and pallets
- Operations of safe shipping/receiving liquid fertilizer and herbicides
- Assist with customer accounts and office duties
- Relationship building with customers to help grow the business in the off-season
- Site safety inspections
- Other Duties as Required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 2 plus years in an office and warehouse environment is preferred
- Previous work within the Agricultural field is an asset
- Basic shipping/receiving experience including inventory tracking and entering
- College graduate in an area of Business Administration or Agricultural Science will be given preference
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Mechanically inclined and able to diagnose and repair minor issues
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
- Familiar with, and able to issue/review documentation with accuracy; load-out tickets, shipping/receiving paperwork, and other administrative duties as needed
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, exceptional communication skills
- Proficient in the use of computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite
- Technical understanding of the agricultural support industry and ability to identify customer existing and ongoing needs
- Familiar with The Rack as a company along with products/services available
- Must live in or near the town of North Battleford SK
