POSITION TITLE: Plant Operator
REPORTS TO: Plant Operations Manager
LOCATION: Biggar, SK
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, the Plant Operator is responsible for the operation, ongoing maintenance and cleaning of our new state of the art dry fertilizer plant. Additional duties include general housekeeping and organization, unloading bulk fertilizer and operating various equipment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operation and calibration of blending plant equipment
• Maintain site and record maintenance and housekeeping in appropriate log books
• Adhere to safety protocols and document where possible
• Ensures equipment is operating properly
• Creates customer fertilizer blends in accordance to work orders
• Maintenance of yard site
• Overtime and irregular hours expected during busy times
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
• Able and willing to work at heights and in inclement climate
• Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to push, pull and lift heavy objects < 50lbs
• Forklift and skid steer experience/tickets would be beneficial
• Experience with a variety of computer software is a preference
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
