Taber Home and Farm Center in Southern Alberta is looking for an Assistant Manager. Reporting to the THF General Manager, the position is responsible for the planning and day to day execution of the retail. The position provides leadership and direction to operational and sales staff.

Taber Home and Farm Center is an independent agricultural retailer servicing Southern Alberta since 1983. Our goal is to provide strong agronomic solutions for both irrigated and dryland producers with their vast variance of crops. Along with crop inputs, Taber Home and Farm also retails lumber, hardware and bulk fuel to our customers in Southern Alberta.

Position description (what you’ll do):

• Assist General Manager in supply chain logistics and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with regulating safety protocols.
• Coordinate fleet and maintenance schedules.
• Out of province permits for deliveries
• Provide leadership and sales direction for staff in Ag, Lumber, and Hardware divisions.
• Staff scheduling and monthly meetings with each division.
• Onboarding new employees
• Maintain employee training files

Requirements (Who you are):

• Applicants must have 5 years leadership in an agricultural environment
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skill
• Demonstrate leadership abilities
• Strong knowledge of crop production cycle and agricultural best practice
• Candidates must be team and goal oriented and able to work independently
• Candidates with agricultural, lumber and hardware knowledge will be an asset
• Hands on mindset
• Valid drivers licence
