Sturgeon Valley Fertilizers Ltd. is looking for an experienced Agronomist to join our team. This role will be key in promoting proven farming practices, optimizing crop yields, and supporting our local farming community.

Agronomic Role:
- Collaborate with local farmers to develop and implement crop plans and rotations, soil management, and product needs.
- Develop strong business relationships with our farmers.
- Conduct field diagnosis of crop problems, staging and health.
- Evaluate and implement fertility and spray programs.
- Analyze environmental factors, pest and disease risks, and recommend interventions to mitigate potential issues, ensuring the long-term success of local farms.
- Give recommendations on the proper use of crop input products, fertility management and crop rotation.
- Stay informed about advancements in agronomy, technology, and agricultural research.
- Conduct trials and experiments to test new crop varieties, fertilizers, and pest control methods, with the goal of continually improving agricultural practices.
- Create work orders for the growers to secure products.
- Contribute to our operations team when necessary by dispatching delivery trucks, and transporting/loading products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or diploma in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Agronomist or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of crop management, soil science, and sales.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information to a non-technical audience, aligning with SVF's commitment to transparent and open communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, fostering SVF's family-oriented work environment.
- Familiarity with agricultural technology and precision farming tools.
