AgCareers.com Awards Third Annual Canadian Feed Your Future Scholarship

AgCareers.com awarded their third annual Canadian Feed Your Future Scholarship to Ethan Ringelberg, a Conestoga College student. Ringelberg is working towards his Farm & Heavy Equipment Technician diploma.

AgCareers.com created the Feed Your Future $1,000 scholarship to financially assist a post-secondary student studying agriculture or intending to pursue a career in agriculture. AgCareers.com is committed to Feeding the World with Talent by supporting education and career opportunities in agriculture and food.

The application process involved students responding to essay questions, including, "How are you going to do your part in feeding the world with your talent?"

Ringelberg wrote, "Today, more than ever before, farms require large, automated, expensive equipment to run, and that equipment needs technicians capable of repairing, maintaining, and updating; that is where I see myself fitting in to benefit the agri-food sector by using my talents. I also plan to be the next generation on my family dairy farm, producing high-quality milk food for consumers."

“Agriculture has had a huge impact on my life,” said Ringelberg. He noted that his parents always encouraged him to choose a pathway of learning that used his talents and skills and to work towards a career he’s passionate about. “Agriculture is very rewarding; each day is different and filled with new challenges. There’s no better life—who wouldn’t want to be part of it!” added Ringelberg.

Along with his college studies, Ringelberg recently started an Instagram and YouTube channel called “Our Farm Story.” He shares stories of what they are doing on the farm, captured with a drone and his phone. “I plan to continue to help inform consumers how their food is produced, dispel myths, and encourage people to consider careers in agriculture,” added Ringelberg.
