GRAIN LOCATION MANAGER

                                              

Job Title: Grain Location Manager

Division: Grain

Reports to: CEO & VP of Grain

 

Summary: The Grain Location Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the assigned grain facility, with a strong focus on rail logistics, grain marketing support, space management, and operational efficiency. This leadership role works closely with the VP of Grain to develop and execute strategies that optimize storage capacity, maintain compliance, and ensure excellent service for area producers and customers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Uphold and support Ag Plus's Vision, Mission, and Core Business Values.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude with both customers and fellow employees.
  • Provide exceptional, courteous customer service at all times.
  • Read and follow all employee policies as outlined by the company.
  • Manage budgeting and cost control for the assigned location.
  • Promote and support Ag Plus's grain and agronomy programs.
  • Ensure all facilities and equipment are well-maintained, clean, and in proper working conditions.
  • Complete the required documentation and activity reports accurately and on time.
  • Monitor grain inventory condition and complete weekly inventory reports.
  • Maintain OSHA and Ag Plus safety records as required.
  • Provide customers with cash grain bids and explain basic grain contract options.
  • Promote Ag Plus products and services to both existing and prospective customers.
  • Communicate company policies and site operations to customers as needed.
  • Recommend facility repairs and operational improvements to the CEO & VP of Grain.
  • Oversee training for plant personnel to ensure tasks are completed properly and safely.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure seasonal readiness and efficiency.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers and actively manage a list of prospects.
  • Follow Ag Plus credit policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Ag Plus policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Ensure location operations are in compliance with safety standards and all applicable regulations.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment across management staff.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Directly supervises assigned employees. Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; creating a non-hostile work environment; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:                                                  

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or 15 years or more related experience and/or education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a knowledge of accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Mandatory:

  • Valid Driver's License

Optional:

  • Commercial Driver's License with Hazardous Material Endorsement

CCA certificate

  • USDA grain weighing and grading license.
