Flock Services – Intern

The Wenger Group internships offer students a unique exposure to many facets of technology and its relationship with agriculture.  The Wenger Group tailors the internship to meet both the student and company objectives for a mutually beneficial experience.  This position is ideal for a college student studying in the field of flock services to meet both student and company objectives for a mutually beneficial experience.

What will you do:

Pullet Service

  • Chick placement
  • Pullet Management
  • Vaccinations and pullet health

Flock Service

  • Layer hen management
  • Bird health monitoring and functions
  • Veterinary Visits
  • Cage, Cage-free, and organic production

Egg Marketing

  • Egg markets and sales
  • Warehouse operations
  • Animal Welfare and Marketing Programs
  • Pennsylvania Egg Quality Assurance Program(PEQAP)
  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • American Humane Certified/Humane Farm Animal Care(AHC/HFAC)
  • Pennsylvania Certified Organic/National Organic Program(PCO/NOP)
  • Utilize vulnerability scanners to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.

Who are you:

  • Currently enrolled in a college program
  • Strong understanding of basic animal health principles and concepts.
  • Familiarity with the poultry and feed sectors of the agricultural industry
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
