To support that challenge, the Data Visualization team is currently seeking a Product Owner, Trialling Data. You will help shape the future of agriculture by acting as an integral part of the Advanced Analytics and Data Science team within Global Seeds Research and Development. As the Product Owner, Trialling Data, you will:

  • Set the strategic direction for the assigned data domain focused on architecting the roadmap as the function embarks on an ambitious transformational agenda
  • Be responsible for setting priorities for an Agile team to effectively manage and deliver advancements within their specific data domain
  • Ensure that product development efforts incorporate an approach that starts with experimentation to validate expected impact
  • Help promote human-centered design, embrace agile principles, incorporate external insights and End to End process optimizations, and compliance engagement

Accountabilities

  • Responsibility for the strategic and financial implications of a Data Domain Product Team: Development team members, Scrum Master, and Subject Matter Experts
  • Drive towards minimum viable product MVP by thinking iteratively
  • Set the bar for high product quality standards for teams
  • Take ownership of assigned features and lead the creation and prioritization of the team backlog 
  • Accountability for execution of assigned Features and associated products and deliverables within data domain  
  • Perform ongoing generating, managing, refinement and prioritization of the product backlog
  • Partnering with Data Architecture team to define the role each system plays within the data domain aligned with business capabilities
  • Facilitate and guide the development of metrics, structure of studies, benchmark initiatives, and data collection methodologies in support of business requirements
  • Coordinate with Data Stewards and Data Quality Analysts on adherence with data standards and quality metrics
  • Continuously innovate and evolve the product in alignment with strategic priorities
  • Provide clear story definitions and acceptance criteria and final acceptance upon story completion
  • Engage with SCRUM Masters and team members on a regular basis to ensure assigned features are fully executed within the prescribed Program Increment
  • Participate in establishing working principles usage, design, data, decision making as needed for the product
  • Promote an innovative culture in the Data team
  •  


    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree preferred, with focus on Management
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in working with technical or data teams
    • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Effective manager of people and strong team-building skills
    • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

    Preferred Requirements

    • Human Centered Design and User Journey mapping experience
    • Advanced analytics capability exposure to R, Python, Domino, Sage Maker
    • Proficiency with Tableau, or bespoke visualization tools such as D3
    • Knowledge of Big Data and Analytics
    • In-depth knowledge and experience working with Scrum and agile methodologies
    • Hands-on experience in using Jira to plan and execute sprints
    • Strong understanding of application integrations and/or data warehouse and analytics
    • Hands-on experience with Tableau
    • Knowledge of AWS technologies and services
    • Hands-on experience in writing complex SQL and coding in Java, Python or any other object-oriented language
