SUMMARY
To provide maximum service to members and patrons in order that the Two Rivers Consumer Cooperative Association is recognized by everyone as an efficiently managed, soundly financed, and democratically controlled organization that renders a vital service to its members and the community. Direct and coordinates the business and employees of the Cooperative in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors. General Manager is responsible for maintaining optimum efficiency and economy of operations across all Cooperative locations and service lines, and in all states in which the Cooperative conducts business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Manager directly supervises department and location managers who supervise the total employee base of the Cooperative. General Manager is responsible for the overall direction, strategy and evaluation of each department or location. The General Manager carries out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable State and Federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess proficiency with standard office equipment and the computer. Willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job related education requirements or opportunities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation, and labeling.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell; stand; walk; sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds. The employee may frequently need to climb ladders (may range from 20’ to 180’) and stairs. This may include structural ladders as well as climbing into applicator rig, large vehicles, and/or tractors. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employees must understand and implement all related safety polices, procedures and programs for prevention and protection while performing job duties in various work environments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and explosives. The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate. Employees must understand and implement all related safety polices, procedures and programs for prevention and protection while performing job duties in various work environments.
