This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.
What you will do:
  • The primary focus is to lead the site Turnaround program following Nutrien’s 7 phase turnaround model and ensures site specific staging plans are in place for all phases of the model
  • Define the site-specific Turnaround methodology in conjunction with the site Turnaround Manager
  • Closely interact with Nutrien’s central Turnaround Director and others on that team
  • Facilitate the turnaround scope of work identification process in consultation with the plant engineers, project engineers, maintenance technicians and Operations
  • Responsible for preparation and execution for the site’s overall state of preparedness of outages and turnarounds, including facilitating regular review meetings and reporting turnaround preparation progress
  • Manage cost tracking strategy with the site accountant and central TAR controls manager to ensure reporting systems are in place
  • Responsible for arranging and supervising the turnaround planning team
  • Ensure that each person has and understands their position description
  • Responsible for arranging pre and post turnaround evaluations and responsible for timely implementation of evaluation recommendations as appropriate
  • Develop organization chart with input from all parties, including heat map on experience
  • Coach, communicate, motivate, and manage performance of direct reports
  • Participate in process mapping for the plant start-ups, shutdown, capital projects, and critical path work
  • Control the addition or removal of work scope
What you will bring:
    High School diplomaEngineering degree, Valid provincial or inter-provincial journeyman trade ticket, or technologist certificate3-5 years Turnaround ExperienceIn-depth knowledge of the plant’s processes and related equipmentA sound working knowledge of the plant equipment and the regulatory requirementsProven supervisory and interpersonal skillsA good working knowledge of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act and RegulationsDemonstrates problem solving and decision-making skillsExperience in the chemical manufacturing of hydrocarbon processing industryWorking SAP knowledge in work orders, scheduling, maintenance plans, task lists and materials orderingLevel of knowledge with Primavera/Impress tools scheduling toolsAbility to read and understand complex plant drawings (P&ID’s, ISO’s, Underground, etc.)
