Qualifications:

- 5+ years of dairy management experience
- Strong leadership, employee supervision, and team development skills
- Formal education, advanced dairy training programs, or significant professional development within the dairy industry preferred
- Strong herd health and reproduction background, including AI breeding experience
- Experience with inventory management, recordkeeping, and herd management software
- Working knowledge of feed management and dairy nutrition
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Dairy Spanish required; conversational fluency preferred


Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation located in Michigan who is seeking an experienced, hands on Operations Manager to oversee daily dairy activities and support overall operational performance.

This position will provide leadership across multiple departments, ensuring employees are supported, protocols are followed, and production goals are achieved. Responsibilities include labor management, departmental accountability, SOP compliance, oversight of herd health and reproduction, inventory management, and collaboration with the veterinarian, nutritionist, and other vendors.

The Operations Manager will utilize herd management software and production reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), track dairy performance, and support data-driven decision-making. Additional responsibilities include overseeing preventive maintenance programs, equipment care, facility cleanliness, project execution, and corrective action initiatives.

This is a highly visible role requiring a hands on leader who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and driving continuous improvement across all areas of the dairy.
