Qualifications:

- Previous experience in dairy, feedlot, ranch, or other livestock operations required
- Strong cattle handling skills and the ability to identify health and performance issues
- Experience supervising employees and coordinating daily work activities
- Knowledge of heifer development, cattle processing, and herd health protocols
- Basic computer skills with experience using livestock management software and maintaining accurate records
- Ability to operate farm equipment and perform basic equipment and facility maintenance
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Spanish-speaking ability preferred
- Valid driver's license required


Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a progressive Heifer Operation in California who is seeking a motivated and dependable Heifer Operations Foreman to oversee daily activities within a large-scale heifer development program.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring an individual who can effectively supervise employees while ensuring animal health, operational efficiency, and protocol compliance across all areas of the facility.

Responsibilities include overseeing cattle receiving, processing, movement, and shipping; monitoring animal health and performance; maintaining accurate treatment and inventory records; and ensuring cattle are cared for in accordance with established protocols. The Heifer Operations Foreman will work closely with management, veterinarians, and nutritionists to support herd health programs, vaccination schedules, and performance goals.

Additional responsibilities include supervising employees, coordinating daily work assignments, monitoring facility cleanliness and maintenance needs, assisting with equipment upkeep, and utilizing livestock management software to track cattle performance and inventory. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a safe, organized work environment while promoting strong communication and accountability within the team.
