Qualifications:

- Strong artificial insemination (AI) breeding experience required
- Experience administering reproductive protocols, including Lutalyse, GnRH, and CIDR programs
- Familiarity with heat detection systems such as SCR or similar technologies
- Experience performing pregnancy checks using ultrasound preferred
- Basic computer skills with experience entering and maintaining accurate records in herd management software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established breeding protocols
- Spanish-speaking ability preferred but not required


Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation in Ohio who is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Breeding Manager to oversee daily reproductive activities and support the dairy's overall herd performance goals.

Primary responsibilities include performing artificial insemination on cows and heifers, administering synchronization and hormone protocols, monitoring heat detection systems, and ensuring that all breeding activities are completed in accordance with established procedures. The Breeding Manager will be responsible for selecting and handling semen, maintaining proper storage and thawing procedures, and ensuring accurate breeding records are entered into DairyComp and other herd management systems.

This position will work closely with herd management and the veterinarian to monitor reproductive performance, evaluate breeding outcomes, and make recommendations to improve conception rates and overall herd efficiency. Additional responsibilities include painting and monitoring heifers for heat detection, administering Lutalyse and GnRH injections, utilizing CIDRs as needed, and assisting with pregnancy checks using ultrasound.
