Qualifications:

- Experience: 2 to 3 years of proven management or supervisory experience in production operations, warehousing, or logistics. Prior experience leading a team of 10+ employees is highly preferred.

- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical equipment principles. Hands-on experience in machinery operation, preventative maintenance, or electrical troubleshooting is a strong asset.

- Work Ethic: Adaptable to a fast-paced plant environment, resilient, energetic, and possessing exceptional execution and follow-through.

- Communication: Outstanding interpersonal, coordination, and leadership skills. Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

- Scheduling Flexibility: Open and fully available to work flexible hours under a shift rotation system.

- Problem Solving: Excellent crisis-management abilities with a proven track record of handling workplace emergencies independently.

- Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) across speaking, reading, and writing is required. Conversational Spanish proficiency is a highly regarded plus.

Job Description:

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a progressive manufacturing operation seeking an Assistant Plant Operations Manager to work directly with the Plant Operations Manager in overseeing and executing daily manufacturing activities. This well-rounded role requires a unique mix of production planning, team management, workflow optimization, and technical hands-on capability. The ideal candidate will be ready to lead from the front lines, resolve operational challenges, and step up to manage full facility operations in the Plant Operations Manager's absence.

The Assistant Plant Operations Manager will assist in overseeing all aspects of daily facility operations, including production execution, full-chain quality control, cost monitoring, delivery scheduling, workflow optimization, workplace safety, and environmental compliance. This individual will assume full responsibility for plant management, operational decision-making, and supervisory oversight during the Plant Operations Manager's absence.

Responsibilities include coordinating across production, maintenance, logistics, and personnel teams to ensure seamless workflows and minimize production downtime. The Assistant Plant Operations Manager will closely monitor production lines to enforce safety protocols, strict quality standards, and compliance measures while assisting in drafting, refining, and optimizing short- and long-term production schedules to maximize efficiency.

The successful candidate will participate in equipment maintenance scheduling and troubleshooting to ensure all machinery and tools remain fully functional. This role also requires proactively identifying inefficiencies, waste, or bottlenecks in production workflows to implement cost-reduction and efficiency-enhancement initiatives. Using office software proficiently to collect operational metrics, analyze performance data, and generate reports for strategic planning is an important part of the position.

Additional responsibilities include operating forklifts or trucks and assisting with basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting when needed to maintain workflow momentum. The Assistant Plant Operations Manager will also perform other operational and leadership duties as requested by upper management.
