Media ArticleThe National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) has appointed Evan Dean as vice president of government and legislative affairs. In this role, he will lead the association’s federal advocacy efforts and support policies affecting the U.S. grain, feed, processing, and export industries.
Dean brings significant Capitol Hill experience to the position. Most recently, he served as legislative director for U.S. Representative Mike Flood of Nebraska, where he worked on agriculture, trade, energy, transportation, and telecommunications policy issues.
His responsibilities included developing legislative strategies and coordinating with federal agencies, congressional offices, and industry stakeholders. His background is expected to strengthen NGFA’s policy and advocacy initiatives in Washington.
Before serving as legislative director, Dean worked as a legislative assistant for Representative Flood. He focused on agriculture, trade, appropriations, energy, telecommunications, and natural resources policy.
Earlier in his career, Dean held legislative roles in the offices of Representative Greg Pence of Indiana and Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina. These positions provided additional experience in federal policymaking and government affairs.
Based in Arlington, Virginia, NGFA represents companies involved in grain handling, feed manufacturing, grain processing, and related agribusiness sectors. The organization advocates for policies related to grain trade, transportation, feed regulation, and export competitiveness.
Dean’s appointment reflects NGFA’s commitment to strengthening its government relations efforts. His experience in agriculture and legislative affairs is expected to help advance policies that support growth, competitiveness, and innovation across the grain and feed industry.
