The International Dairy Foods Association appointed Liz Demorest as director of PAC and political affairs to strengthen advocacy efforts, expand political engagement, and enhance dairy industry representation.

The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) has appointed Elizabeth “Liz” Demorest as director of PAC and political affairs. The move supports the organization’s efforts to strengthen advocacy and political engagement for the U.S. dairy industry.

The appointment is part of IDFA’s broader strategy to expand its influence at both the federal and state levels. Over the past year, the association has enhanced its government relations efforts, expanded state advocacy initiatives, and increased engagement with policymakers.

In her new role, Demorest will oversee IDFA’s political action committee (PAC) strategy and related activities. Her responsibilities include fundraising, donor relations, compliance, member engagement, and coordinating political events.

She will work closely with the government relations team to align political activities with the association’s advocacy priorities. The role also includes creating opportunities for members to connect with policymakers through events, meetings, and advocacy programs.

Demorest brings more than 15 years of experience in PAC management and grassroots advocacy. Most recently, she served as Associate Director of Political Engagement for the American Academy of Dermatology Association, where she managed political action and advocacy initiatives.

Earlier in her career, she held advocacy and political affairs positions with the American College of Emergency Physicians, the National Association of Realtors, and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

A graduate of Ohio University with a degree in political science, Demorest also holds a Certificate in PAC Management. Raised on a cattle farm in Ohio, she began her career working with agricultural organizations and local farming communities.

Her appointment reflects IDFA’s continued focus on expanding political engagement and strengthening the dairy industry’s voice with policymakers across the country.
