Ohio State reappointed Graham Cochran as associate dean for operations through 2030, recognizing his leadership in advancing facilities, infrastructure, and statewide operations across CFAES.

The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) has reappointed Graham Cochran as associate dean for operations, with his new term running from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2030. Cochran has held the position since 2017, where he has overseen a broad range of responsibilities supporting the college’s statewide operations.

In his role, Cochran leads agricultural, field, and animal operations across farms, research stations, and field laboratories. His responsibilities also extend to information and educational technology, facilities management, capital planning, safety initiatives, and operations at CFAES Wooster. His leadership has contributed to improving infrastructure and operational efficiency across multiple campuses.

Cochran has been instrumental in guiding major construction and renovation projects in Columbus, Wooster, and other locations throughout Ohio. Notable developments include the Multispecies Animal Learning Complex and a dairy facility in Columbus. These projects provide modern, technology-driven environments that enhance teaching, learning, and research opportunities for students and faculty.

“Graham has demonstrated thoughtful, steady leadership while helping position CFAES for long-term success,” said Cathann A. Kress, Ohio State vice president for agricultural administration and CFAES dean. “His commitment to collaboration, accountability and strategic investment has strengthened our college and helped advance our mission across teaching, research and outreach.”

Looking ahead, Cochran emphasized the importance of people and infrastructure in supporting the college’s mission and the continued growth of CFAES operations across the state.

Before becoming associate dean, Cochran served in several leadership roles at Ohio State and holds degrees in Extension education, zoology, and biology.
