Media ArticleThe United Soybean Board (USB) has appointed Courtney Knupp as its next chief executive officer, effective October 1. The decision was approved by USB’s board of farmer-leaders, which represents soybean growers from more than 30 states.
Knupp brings nearly two decades of experience in agriculture, international trade, public policy, and market development. She currently serves as director of global supply chain at the National Security Council, where she works on strengthening the resilience of U.S. agriculture and food systems.
Throughout her career, Knupp has held several leadership positions in the agricultural sector. Her previous roles include senior policy advisor at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, vice president of international market development at the National Pork Board, and director of global animal and aquaculture nutrition at the U.S. Soybean Export Council.
These positions allowed her to contribute to export growth, international market development, and the promotion of U.S. agricultural products worldwide. Her experience is expected to support USB’s efforts to create value and expand opportunities for soybean growers.
Raised on her family’s farm in Iowa, Knupp maintains strong ties to agriculture and soybean production. Her background provides both industry expertise and firsthand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing farmers.
Knupp will relocate to USB’s headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri, and officially assume her new role on October 1. Her appointment marks a new phase for the organization as it continues working to strengthen the competitiveness and long-term success of U.S. soybeans in global markets.
