The Canadian Agri-Business Education Foundation (CABEF) has announced the seven recipients of its 2026 scholarships, recognizing students from across the country for their academic achievements and commitment to the future of agriculture and agri-food in Canada. Each recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship to support their studies at a Canadian university, college, or technical institute.
The selected students represent a broad geographic range.
From Western Canada, Max Burris of Gunn, Alberta, and Victoria Pitsiaeli of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, were chosen.
Central Canada recipients include Tyson Griffin of Darlingford, Manitoba, and Gabriella Vecchio of Bjorkdale, Saskatchewan.
In Eastern Canada, the honourees are Alexis Desgranges of Granby, Quebec, Leah Hachler of St. Mary’s, Ontario, and Bayly Wilson of Port Perry, Ontario.
Applicants were evaluated based on their leadership experience and their responses to a key industry question about emerging issues in Canada’s agriculture and food industry and how young leaders can help address them to support future growth and sustainability.
CABEF Chair Michelle Bertholet noted that the recipients demonstrate strong passion, leadership, and commitment to the future of Canadian agriculture, along with innovation, resilience, and forward-thinking perspectives that will help strengthen the agri-food industry.
CABEF continues to support students in agriculture-related programs, helping foster the next generation of leaders in Canada’s agri-food sector.
