The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement has awarded scholarships to 66 students to support their education and future careers in agriculture. A total of $457,000 has been distributed, with each scholarship valued at up to $10,000.
These scholarships are given to students who show strong academic performance and a clear interest in building a career in the agriculture sector. The program aims to encourage young individuals to continue their studies and contribute to the growth of the agricultural industry.
“These students represent the energy, innovation, and dedication that will help shape the next generation of agriculture,” said Sharon McClellan, Chair of the Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement. “We’re proud to support their educational journeys and invest in the future of our industry. It’s incredibly rewarding to play a role in helping them grow and succeed.”
The Farm Credit Foundation, funded by Horizon Farm Credit, was established in 2015. It works to support agriculture in a 100-county region that includes Delaware, Pennsylvania, and parts of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. The Foundation focuses on creating positive impacts by supporting students and agriculture-related initiatives.
The scholarship program is open to high school seniors and students currently enrolled in two year or four-year college programs or technical schools. Applicants must plan to pursue careers in agriculture and meet eligibility requirements within the service region, including Washington, DC.
Since its launch, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.75 million in scholarships. This ongoing effort shows its strong commitment to education and industry development.
