About the role

This is a senior, outward facing role leading industry engagement across the agri-food supply chain.  You will shape and deliver a value-chain engagement strategy, ensuring emerging agri-tech is commercially relevant, adoption ready and positioned for scale.

Acting as a senior bridge between innovation programmes, supply chain customers, professional bodies and strategic stakeholders, you will ensure technologies translate into measurable return on investment and sustainable market adoption.  The role also carries leadership responsibility for a high performing engagement team. 

Your responsibilities will include:

•   Build structured routes with supply chain stakeholders to raise awareness, identify validation requirements and support adoption pathways
•   Collaborate across departments and partners, and foster a collaborative culture across all relevant teams 
•   Provide senior insight on emerging industry trends, adoption barriers and risks through robust reporting and data capture
•   Oversee the development of evidence based case studies
•   Support the go-to-market positioning for technologies reaching commercial readiness
•   Build strategic partnerships with supply chain leaders, corporates, professional bodies and accreditation organisations
•   Lead sector level conversations across a number of themes and represent the organisation at industry forums and events
•   Provide senior reporting on engagement performance, commercial traction of agri-tech and barriers to adoption 
•   Responsible for budgetary spend

About You 

You will bring strong sector credibility and a track record of turning innovation into commercial outcomes within the agri-food supply chain.  You are a 'doer', whilst championing and collaborating.  You will identify opportunities, and collaborate with the technical experts to develop an exciting pathway of technology engagement - whilst being heavily involved with the Key Account Management (KAM) approach.  You are comfortable at operating at a senior level, and you will understand the realities of supply chain adoption.

 You are likely to have experience in:

•   Extensive experience within the UK agri-food and/or agri-tech sector
•   Proven success in strategic partnership development and commercial engagement
•   Experience leading teams and managing performance
•   Strong understanding of productivity, profitability and sustainability drivers at farm and supply chain level
•   Experience translating innovation into commercial outcomes
•   Commercial and market insight
•   Experience working within structured programme or portfolio delivery environments
