Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for Trade Governance Manager – SME Import/Export Processes, Classification and Systems based in Indianapolis, IN or open to remote for USA only.

This position oversees the development and implementation of key import and export processes across Corteva and assures compliance with global IM/EX security programs. This role will develop global import and export policies to be cascaded to regional Trade Governance Managers. The position also develops and implements standardized and customized training and the global international trade audit program. This position will be responsible for managing the global classification program for Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN’s). This position is the process owner for international trade compliance IT applications and tools used by corporate and regional trade professionals to drive efficiency and effectiveness, and ensure regulatory compliance. They will work with regional commercial operations, regional supply chain organizations, External Affairs, IT, and Legal to implement a world-class international trade program for global operations of Corteva.

  • Understand and implement defined responsibilities of Corteva Trade Governance, Trade Compliance and Trade Operations processes. 
  • Support Corteva International Trade Community of Practice, driving harmonization of trade strategy, talent development, processes and systems/tools across the enterprise.
  • Create and deploy global and regional standardized international trade policies, automation tools and international trade applications such as GTS.
  • Develop and deploy effective international trade training programs at global and regional level, in collaboration with regional trade governance and supply chain trade compliance/operations teams.
  • Implement processes for monitoring global trade compliance performance via an international trade audit program.
  • Manage global classification program and ensure databases in international trade IT system are continuously updated to provide the most current information to users.
  • Maintain existing global security programs and continuously increase the number of participating sites around the world.

Critical Success Factors: 

  • Detailed knowledge of international trade processes, global best practices, cargo security programs, and trade automation solutions.
  • Ability to insist upon use of corporate processes to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Strong knowledge/capability in logistics and supply chain (domestic and international).
  • Ability to plan and execute programs, and benchmark best practices to develop processes that support continuous improvement.
  • Participation in industry groups and associations where global best practices, trends and other information related to international trade processes are shared.

Education / Certifications / Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or logistics; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of international trade processes and best practices.
  • Knowledge of international trade IT applications and tools.
  • Minimum ten years of experience working in or supervising trade governance and compliance roles.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred. 
  • Good negotiation, influence and conflict resolution skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent, speech and writing, in English; additional competencies in French and/or Spanish preferred.
